Mise en Place is a 10 acre property in Roberts Creek on the Sunshine Coast of British Columbia.

It is an expression of the artistic and practical spirits of Sarah Bradley and Ian Thomas.

On site are the house, horse barn, riding arena, pottery studio and workshop that are the bones of this work in progress.

Mise en place (French pronunciation: [mi zɑ̃ ˈplas]) is a French phrase which means "putting in place", as in set up. It is used in professional kitchens to refer to organizing and arranging the ingredients (e.g., cuts of meat, relishes, sauces, par-cooked items, spices, freshly chopped vegetables, and other components) that a cook will require for the menu items that are expected to be prepared during a shift. The practice is also effective in home kitchens.

We have extended this concept to our lives and environment. Mise en Place is as much a description and a goal for ourselves as we strive to order parts of our lives in order to create chaos in other aspects.
